Rosenlund’s mansion and rosarium in Jönköping is an oasis of floral splendor and historical charm. This gem of a public park facility is home to an award-winning rosary that boasts about 550 different roses. The varieties are distributed over a variety of rose groups and the large palisades of climbing roses are characteristic of the place. The rosary also contains a clone archive of local rose varieties. Rosenlund’s mansion from 1788, is today used as an internal conference facility within Jönköping municipality, a place for civil weddings and a place for cultural events and art exhibitions. The Gustavian manor park, Posse park, is just a stone’s throw from Lake Vättern’s shore and is a peaceful retreat within walking distance of Jönköping’s center.
The highlight is the award-winning rosegarden, which in 2022 received the prestigious “Award of Garden Excellence” – an honor that makes Rosenlunds mansion and rosegarden the first in Sweden to receive this recognition title from the World Federation of Rose Societies. Rosenlund’s rosegarden is now classified as one of the world’s most visited rosaries. From May to September, various types of guided tours are offered in the area. There is a summer café in the park and during the year Rosen’s Day, Christmas market and several other events are arranged.
The technical office of Jönköping municipality is responsible for planning, development, construction and maintenance of the park area.
