The Garden Society of Gothenburg (Trädgårdsföreningen) was founded in 1842 and is today one of the best preserved 19th century parks in Europe.
The Park’s flora is extremely diverse, with rose gardens brimming with thousands of roses, an impressive collection of trees, and perennials and annuals in magnificent flowerbeds and carpet beddings.
The Park is full of activity all year, with restaurants and cafés, musical events, theatrical performances and seasonal parties.
The Palm House, which is an exact copy of London’s Crystal Palace, houses an extensive variety of exotic plants.
The many beautiful historic buildings and hothouses in the Park were listed in 1992 and fully restored in 2008.
