At Skansen you can walk through four centuries of Swedish garden history. Experience Skogaholm’s magnificent kitchen garden from the 18th century, explore the Nature Trail and all its knowledge on biodiversity, discover the history of the allotment gardens, enjoy the splendor of the Rose garden and peek in on the tobacco plants in the 19th century urban quarters.

When the open-air museum Skansen was founded in 1891 large amounts of trees, shrubs and other vegetation were planted to transform the bare cliffs into a lush oasis, in central Stockholm. Skansen today is an impressive and unusual park with many small gardens, flowers, wild vegetation and cultivated gardens from all over Sweden.

We are open every day, all year round. Welcome to enjoy, and get inspired, in our large park!
