Among hills and lush forests between two lakes, only 15 minutes from Gothenburg, you will find Gunnebo House and Gardens. Here you can treat yourself to a break from everyday life by tasting organic and seasonal food in the restaurant, hike in the beautiful surroundings, visit the friendly cows and listen to the unique history of Gunnebo House and Gardens dating back to the late 18th century during a guided tour. Today Gunnebo is an over one hundred hectare culturally-protected nature reserve. Gunnebo is open all year around, welcome!

Gunnebo House
Gunnebo House and Gardens is one of the most well preserved 18th century estates in Northern Europe. The house was built as a summer residence for the wealthy merchant John Hall and was completed in 1796. The entire estate including the house, its furniture and interior decorations, the gardens and the surrounding buildings were designed by Carl Wilhelm Carlberg, city architect of Gothenburg. The estate has been maintained over the centuries and more recently restored to its former splendour based on Carlberg’s 204 original drawings. Gunnebo House and Gardens is an historic location, owned and operated by the city of Mölndal.

Gunnebo Gardens
The estate has three types of gardens: the formal gardens, the English landscape park and the kitchen gardens, all operated according to an organic and sustainable approach. Our close collaboration with the gardeners means we’re also trying out new ways of using herbs, aromatics and vegetables all the time

Gunnebo Restaurant and Café
Enjoy a Swedish “fika”- something sweet to nibble on along with a cup of tea or coffee- or a meal at Gunnebo Restaurant and Café, which has its own reward winning bakery. It is located in the servants’ quarters, which manage to capture and retain the true atmosphere of the time. Everything served is organically produced. Much of the food comes from our gardens and the menu varies with the season.

Gunnebo Gift Shop
We offer unique Gunnebo products such as our own tea mix, conserves, fresh bread daily, crispbread and biscuits. Several of our products are baked or prepared in the Gunnebo bakery and kitchen. In addition, you will find garden tools, interior design, local crafts, toys, books and much more.

Gunnebo Farm
The Gunnebo House farmhouse consists of a number of traditional red buildings east of the kitchen gardens. Here we and our animals work on the 100-hectare cultural reserve. The way we keep our animals today is reminiscent of how they would have been kept at Gunnebo in the 18th Century.

Activities
Discover the historical delights and regal charm of the 18th Century estates or Gunnebo Gardens in the company of one of our guides. We also arrange conferences, dinners and other activities, such as lectures, courses, markets and concerts.
